Author’s note: The fic is form reader point of view, so don’t get confused. In this fic the events happen differently, but I am not going to spoil the story here, so if you are curious keep reading. Enjoy! ~

One will describe magic as dangerous and anyone who uses it is as bad-at least where I am born. My name is (y/n) and I am the grandson of Merlin- the famous wizard and teacher of King Arthur. As you may know he became a great a wise ruler, but his personal life is not that happy. The love of his life and his rightful wife never gave him descendants. That was until Arthur decided to seek help from his older sister Morgana. She warned him magic shouldn’t be used this way, but he still insisted, convincing her they will take whatever the consequences are. Finally she made a potion, adding three drops of her blood and gave it to the queen, stating she had to be fully sure before she drank it. Of course she was as determined and desperate as her husband she doesn’t hesitate.  They were extremely happy when Guinevere gave birth to their son Mordred, the name given him by his aunt as Arthur gladly gave her that honor. Of course I was there on the ceremony, only 5 at the time, but I could feel the strong magic he possessed. That is why later we became very good friends, because there are not many wizards I know, well no one else beside him. We even were sent together to Auradon.  Mordred as the obnoxious guy he was, had refused to study with snobs, but I couldn’t wait to meet new people and make more friends magical or not.  That is where our story starts for real
-I don’t get it! What is so exciting about all of this? - He frowned, sinking further down the black leather sit. I rolled my eyes, looking out the window. Arguing with him was like banging my head in the wall. Though I couldn’t help but worry for some reason, having the feeling that something was about to happen. I glanced once or twice at Mordred, who had fallen asleep snoring loudly. I grinned and barely resisted the urge to tickle his nose.
After two hours the school could be seen in the distance.  It looked like any other castle, but who am I to judge. Still they could do better in the design. I may be a poor boy coming from a low class family, but I am architecture genius, not that I am bragging or anything. When the entrance came into view I shrugged Mordred to wake him up. He grumbled, rubbing his eyes and sat up straight not very pleased for being abruptly awaken. I was too busy to staring through the glass to deal with his grumpy mood. Soon the limo slowed to a halt and I eagerly opened the door, tripping on my own feet. Mordred burst out laughing slipping out of the car after me. We never noticed our host, who waited for us to acknowledge them. I looked up when I heard Mordred grumble. There on the entrance stood Ben. I remember the first time his family visited Camelot. From the moment they met Mordred and Ben didn’t like one another. Mordred even tried to cast a spell on him to make him disappear, but thankfully he only shrank him to the size of a mouse.
-Welcome to Auradon, I hope your drive here was enjoyable- Ben smiled kindly, but I could tell how displeased he was to see Arthur’s son again. The same could be said for Mordred himself. If he hadn’t been expelled from our old school we wouldn’t be here in the first place. But he went ahead and broke all the rules and got me involved as well. I still can see my grandfather’s disappointed face looking at me while Arthur himself scolded both of us. I never had been angrier at Mordred.  That is why I was taking matters in my hands to keep both of us out of trouble.
-Before you say or does something stupid let me handle this- I stepped in between them all the while shooting my friend a glare, before focusing my eyes on Ben- Are we going to stay here all day or you will show us around?
Ben laughed, motioning for us to follow him. I shot another warning look at Mordred warning him to keep his mouth shut. We didn’t need ourselves in more trouble than we already were. I wondered sometimes why of all people I made friends with this guy. We silently followed the young king inside the building. I carefully listened to him, but that lasted only until my eyes caught sight of a girl with purple hair, across the hallway. Girls rarely attracted my interest, but this one was actually something different. She had magic. Apparently Mordred sensed her magic as well, because he pushed me abruptly on the ground.
-Who is she?-He asked Ben, eyes focused on the girl. Ben stopped, following his gaze.  At that point she noticed us as well and waved at Ben, who waved back. I was too stunned by her beauty I barely noticed when she approached us.
-Hey Mal! How goes the preparation? - Ben greeted her and she snorted at his question.
-You are probably already aware, but Audrey is such a pain in the neck when she decides to take charge of things. She wants everything to be perfect for tonight. But she just loves to boss people around. -she rolled her eyes and Ben laughed, before he looked back at us.
-Mal, meet Prince Mordred Pendragon son of King Arthur and (y/n) son of Merlin the wizard! Boys, this is my good friend Mal, daughter of Maleficent- he introduced us to each other. I snapped out of my daze, jumped on my feet and stretching my hand to Mal.
-Nice to meet you- I smiled politely. She took my hand in hers, shaking it with the words “As wise”. Mordred only nodded, without saying anything.  I stepped on his foot, causing him to wince. Annoyed he punched my arm back and I pinched his cheek, frowning. Mal and Ben were just watching us amused until Ben cleared his throat to stop us. We both glared at him and he nervously sweat dropped.
-Right! Well, Mal will show you your room. I am a little busy with some stuff; you could guess-he shot Mal a pleading look so very obvious when she opened her mouth to speak. When he mouthed silently “please” she signed in defeat.
-Alright! I will be their guide. Just tell me witch room I have to walk them to- she crossed her arms waiting. Ben grinned contently at his victory.
-It’s the one right next to Jay’s and Carlos’ room. Have fun!- he patted her shoulder before he left. When he was far enough she decided to speak.
-I have nothing against you guys, but you see…-she glanced at Mordred, fear visible in her eyes-I am not the best guide, I still learn which is where myself. This place is bigger than it looks.
-You should see Camelot then. It is like a maze- I pointed out and she visibly relaxed. I smiled at her and got slapped at the back of my head by Mordred. I ignored him, focusing on Mal again-Will you be so kind to show our room?
-If you ask so nicely! Follow me! - She turns on her heels and headed to the stairs, leading to the second floor. I could feel something odd with Mordred’s magic, something unusual I never felt before. We passed a room with slightly open door, a cool breeze blowing from inside.  I peeked in sensing more magic. There in the corner of the room sat a blond boy, fidgeting with pair of gloves.  He looked nervous for some reason, pacing back and forth.
-Eltham, son of Elsa queen of Arendel! He is also new here. He doesn’t talk much though. Come!- Mal whispered to me, before she grabbed my hand and kept going. I couldn’t help, but blush a bit. I knew for certain that Mordred is throwing daggers with his eyes at my back. Soon we arrived at the room in question and Mal opened the door for us.
-Take a good rest and be ready at seven for the party. I will come to pick you up- she then looked at me and winked, before she left.  Mordred closed the door, heading for the closest bed, jumping on it, without even taking his shoes off.
-I don’t like how you look at her. Getting attached is not an option- his words stopped at my chest as I realized what he was saying.  I looked up at him with wide eyes hoping he is not serious. He wouldn’t try to do that again, would he?
-You can’t just claim magic which doesn’t belongs to you. That is exactly the reason we are here in the first place. Do you really wish to be evil instead of being just…you?-I insisted expecting at least to wake a little hesitation in him. But I wasn’t expecting it when I was lifted in the air chocking. Mordred stood off the bed and slowly approached me, his eyes narrowed.
-I am your king and you will do what I order you! I would not tolerate anyone opposing my decisions, even you. I don’t care if your grandfather is my father right hand; I will kill you if you stay on my way-he snarled, before he sent me in the wall across the room. I just stood there not daring to move, hand on my throat.  Sometimes I wonder if I really know him. He changed and since we entered puberty he has been almost a different person from the Mordred I know. I sat a good five minutes on the ground, watching him playing on his iPod, until I came to the best decision possible- to sneak out the room and somewhere far away from him. As I crawled to the door and reached for the handle he grumbled, casing me to freeze on the spot.
-Where you think you are going?- he didn’t look at me, but I knew for certain he didn’t need to. I thought for a moment for a proper answer. Last thing I wanted was a fight.
-To find the library! You know you could for once in your life open a book. It won’t hurt you-I pointed out, hoping he won’t get angrier than he already was. Thankfully he snorted like I just told a stupid joke and gestured for me to do as I pleased. I quickly scrambled to my feet and left the room, going a random direction, not really caring where I am going.  On my way down the hall I crashed into a suddenly opening door, not quite paying attention to where I was walking. I winced holding on my nose as someone apologized to me. When I looked up I saw a blue haired girl, standing right in front of me.
-I am so sorry, here, let me see- she reached her hand to me, pulling my hands off my face. The expression on her features explained the consequences were not pleasant for me.
-Evie, what are you doing there? - a voice I instantly recognized come from inside the room.  Soon Mal step outside next to the other girl, scrunching her nose at what she saw.
-Dude your nose bleeds pretty bad- she commented, looking closely- We need to take you to the medical wing.
-Like Hell I will- I frowned, shaking my head. I prefer to be run over by an elephant than that. I just squished my nose and with some magic it was fixed, though it still bleeds a bit. Mal rolled her eyes at my stubbornness.
-Whatever! By the way what are you doing all by yourself, wondering the school? - She was suspicious I could tell that much. I won’t blame her, because in her place I would be too. As for her friend-she was just confused.
-I was trying to escape Mordred. He is in a bad mood- I explained and Mal nodded in understanding. She had witnessed it herself earlier. Which was nothing compared to what I constantly went through being his voice of reason. Evie then stepped closer her eyes literally sparkling.
-Did you just say Mordred, Prince Mordred Pendragon?-I blinked at her not sure how to answer her. Mal pulled her back with a sigh, receiving a grumble from her. It somehow reminded me of me and Mordred when he was not in a killing mood.
-Well umh…he is my friend. We practically grew up together- I explained, seeing Evie smile returning. Obviously she has some king of a crush on him. Which makes me wonder what was so special about him anyway?
-Will you introduce us? - Her enthusiasm was amusing. She was just like a little kid in a candy store.  I thought for a moment not very sure it is a good idea, I mean for her own good.  But they would eventually run into each other, so I guess I could do it as long as I am there to keep an eye on Mordred.
-Tonight at the party! Is that okay? - At my words she screamed and danced on her spot with a wide grin. I and Mal gave each other looks as she continued to dance and even added singing.
-That reminds me I need a new outfit for tonight- she gasped and hurried down the hallway, leaving us alone.
-So…where you want to hide? - She snickered. I understood what she meant by that. I was not sure if I should ask, but some company would be nice though.
-Do you know where the library is? - I asked hesitantly and she laughed at how nervous I am. To be honest, I suck at communicating with girls. I was not sure if she will help me find it or just mock me and walk away attending to her own stuff.
-Follow me!-she beckoned me, walking back the same way I came from. I walked by her side, starting a random conversation to fill in the time of the walking there.
I rewatched the movie few days ago and come up with the idea to write this. It probably is wierd, sinse I write from the reader point of view. I maybe return to the standart writing on the next part.
